The McGill Model United Nations Assembly is a highly anticipated student-run conference held in the heart of downtown Montreal, Quebec since 1989. Celebrating its 36th iteration this year, McMUN operates as one of the most prestigious initiatives of its kind in Canada and ranks among the top academic events at McGill University. As the largest collegiate Model United Nations conference in Canada and the second largest in North America, McMUN holds a 250-strong staffing base and attracts over 1,000 delegates from around the world to participate in lively debate. As an annual initiative, McMUN is one of the largest international conferences and high-ranking events of its kind, attracting distinguished keynote speakers such as Roméo Dallaire, former Force Commander of UNAMIR, Louise Fréchette, Deputy Secretary General of the United Nations, and Badiya al Hassan, The Princess of Jordan. For the past 36 years, McMUN has inspired innovation in the leaders of tomorrow, strengthened student engagement and awareness on global issues and has challenged our participants through realistic and creative debate.
