The year was 1758. A great blaze lit the sky, with feathers trailing behind, like the streaming wings of birds. Naming it Kokoiki, the Kahunas prophesied that a great chief will be born under this star, one that will defeat his enemies and finally unify the Hawaiian islands under one ruler. Kekuʻiapoiwa, heavy with a child, felt a stirring in her stomach. She hurried to the birthing house, knowing she was about to deliver the greatest Hawaiian in history. The ruling chief, Alapai, grew frightened and ordered the child executed. But Kekuʻiapoiwa and her attendants knew that this baby was destined for greatness, so as soon as he was born, her attendants whisked him away through a secret hole in the house and smuggled him to the mountains.
Now, more than 20 years after Kamehameha’s birth, Kamehameha is starting to bring the unification long promised by the great Kahunas. But this poses a problem. As some of the greatest Hawaiians of this time, Kamehameha poses a big threat to your small island kingdoms as he eyes your lands. Now, as a gathering of ali’i from all over the Hawaiian islands, it is your job to determine if you want to join or fight. Will you help our young king rise to power, or let him fall from grace? Will you join forces with him and finally unite Hawaiʻi, or will you kill him and unite Hawaiʻi under your banner? The choice is all down to you...
